Spring is here and it's time to get a little funky in Roscoe Village. Village Tap's Funk Fest will bring you some of the best Wild and Sour ales from around the world. From Belgium classics to new expressions on the style, there will be something for everyone, including cider! So do it the Chicago way and come early, come often.

Brouwerij Bockor/Omer Vander Ghinste Cuvee des Jacobins Rouge, Bellegem, Belgium, 6.5oz, 5.5%- A spontaneously fermented Flemish Sour, red in color, that has aged in barrels for at least 18 months. Exceptional balance between acidity and sweetness from the malt. Glass 8
Brasserie De Bastogne Ardenne Stout, Bastogne, Belgium, 6.5oz, 8%- An Imperial stout brewed with Orval yeast aromas of wood, smoke, and whiskey balanced by 4 hop varietals. Glass 8
Brouwerij De Brabandere Petrus Passion Fruit, Bavikhove, Belgium, 6.5oz, 7.3%- Base beer is the Petrus Age Pale, aged in foeders for 24 months and blended with passionfruit. Tart, sweet, with hints of tropical fruit, bananas and yeast esters. Glass 8
Brouwerij Verhaeghe Echt Kriekenbier, West Flanders, Belgium, 6.5oz, 6.8%- A Wes-Flemish r-brown ale aged in oak barrels and then cherries are added. Finally blended with cherry beer from the past 2 years. Sweet and tart cherry flavors rounded by oak and malt presence. Glass 8
EZ Orchards Hawk Haus, Corvallis, OR, 12oz, 6.6%- aromatic notes of apple, minerals, with herbaceous undertones. Very light funk from wild yeast fermentation. Very effervescent similar to champagne. Glass 10
Firestone Agrestic, Paso Robles, CA, 6.5oz, 6.6%- This beer starts its life as Firestone’s DBA and is transformed by the use of wild yeast strains and 12-15 months in oak barrels. Lemon, vanilla, coconut and cherry flavors are rounded by caramel malt. Glass 8
Jolly Pumpkin French Ale, Dexter, MI, 6.5oz, 5.5%- Biere De Garde style ale slight funky notes of straw and cut grass with hints of citrus a slightly toasted malt sweetness. Glass 7
Off Color Troublesome, Chicago, IL, 13oz, 4.5%- A blend of two distinct beers, the first being a wheat beer and the second an acidic & funky beer fermented with lactobacillius. Coriander and salt are added during fermentation for a mild, lemony tartness. Glass 6.5 / 8oz 4
Rodenbach Caractère Rouge, Roeselare, Belgium, 6.5oz, 7%- A Flanders Red Ale matured in oak foeders and then aged an additional six months with cherries, raspberries, and cranberries. An extremely complex ale with notes of wood and caramel. Glass 8
Stillwater Gose Gone Wild Phuket, Baltimore, MD, 6.5oz, 4.8%- A sour wheat al with mango, lemon grass, Thai peppers, and sea salt. Tart with tropical flavors and a slight briny finish. Glass 7
Une Annee Peche, Niles, Il, 6.5oz, 6.5%- An American Wild Ale with peaches, slight lemon acidity, peach and stone fruit flavors with mild earthiness and funk from wild yeast. Glass 6.5
Whiner Le Tub, Chicago, IL, 13oz, 6.4%- A blended barrel-aged wild Saison, notes of white grapes, lemon, and very slight funk from the wild yeast. Glass 6.5 / 8oz 4

Stillwater Artisanal/Birra Toccalmatto Toats Gone Wild, Baltimore, MD, 6.5oz, 4.5%- Brett Saison brewed with 100% oats creating a hazy, funky, earthy, with light tropical fruit notes. Glass 7
Goose Island Lolita, Chicago, IL, 6.5oz, 8.7%- A rosé colored Belgian style pale ale fermented with wild yeast and aged on raspberries in wine barrels. Glass 7.5
Firestone Kreiky Bones, Paso Robles, CA, 6.5oz, 6.3%- The base beer is a Flanders Red inspired beer aged in French Oak foeders for a year, then cherries are added during a second fermentation. Taste of cherry pie, spice and slight funk and assertive acidity. Glass 8
